Hellcat Supercharger Guide

Find the Right Hellcat Supercharger Upgrade Path

The phrase hellcat supercharger can mean several different things: a complete replacement blower, a ported factory IHI unit, a pulley and throttle-body path, a billet snout, or a rebuild service for a noisy or high-mileage case. This page is built to help owners choose the correct next step before they buy parts or schedule installation.

FAS focuses on the 6.2L supercharged HEMI ecosystem: Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat, Redeye, Durango Hellcat, RAM TRX, and Jeep Trackhawk. The right answer depends on the blower displacement, fuel plan, supporting hardware, intended use, and whether the car is coming to Punta Gorda or the supercharger is being shipped in.

When calibration is required, FAS coordinates remote calibration support and datalog review with the appropriate outside tuner rather than representing the work as an in-house tuning service.

Quick decision points

  • Need a complete parts path? Start with the Dominator 2.4L or 2.7L package.
  • Keeping your current blower? Compare porting, billet snout, pulley, and bearing services.
  • Hearing bearing noise or servicing a used blower? Choose a 2.4L or 2.7L IHI rebuild.
  • Unsure which case you have? Call with your VIN/platform and current supercharger details.

2.4L IHI Hellcat Supercharger

Challenger, Charger, Durango, TRX, Trackhawk

Street cars that need a clean porting, pulley, billet snout, bearing, or rebuild path without replacing the entire blower.

2.7L IHI Redeye / Demon Supercharger

Redeye, Super Stock, Demon-derived platforms

Owners who already have the larger IHI case and want more airflow headroom through porting, snout service, and the right support hardware.

Why Upgrade the Hellcat Supercharger?

The factory 2.4L IHI supercharger is a solid piece of engineering, but it leaves significant power on the table. The rotor pack, inlet, and throttle body are all restricting flow well before the engine runs out of capability. On a 717 hp Hellcat, a properly ported supercharger with a pulley change and matching throttle body can support a more efficient combination without touching the bottom end.

FAS Motorsports has built Hellcats at every power level from bolt-on street builds to full E85 race-oriented combinations. Every package follows build documentation, QC checklists, and remote calibration coordination when required before the car leaves the shop.

The FAS Dominator Supercharger Package

The FAS Dominator is our in-house hellcat supercharger upgrade package — built around a race-ported supercharger rotor pack with a port-matched inlet, paired with our billet snout, aggressive pulley combination, and remote calibration coordination when required.

  • Race-ported supercharger rotor pack with port-matched inlet
  • FAS billet snout & lower pulley kit
  • 108mm throttle body (removes factory restriction)
  • Pulley package selected for the full build combination
  • Pump gas and E85 calibration support when required
  • Professional installation — Punta Gorda, FL

What makes it different

Unlike bolt-on kits from Whipple or Magnuson that replace the supercharger entirely, the FAS Dominator upgrades and ports the factory unit. This retains OEM reliability while dramatically improving airflow — and costs significantly less than a full supercharger replacement at comparable power levels.

Also available

Hellcat Supercharger — Common Questions

What supercharger does the Hellcat have from the factory?

The factory Hellcat uses a 2.4L IHI twin-screw supercharger producing 6–7 psi of boost, rated at 717 hp on the standard Hellcat and 797 hp on the Redeye. The supercharger is mounted on top of the 6.2L HEMI V8 and is an integral part of the engine assembly.

What is the best Hellcat supercharger upgrade?

The most popular upgrade path is a ported or replaced supercharger combined with a pulley change, 108mm throttle body, and supporting fuel system work. FAS Motorsports offers the FAS Dominator package with a ported supercharger rotor pack, port-matched inlet, upgraded throttle body, and remote calibration coordination when required for the Hellcat 6.2L platform.

How much power can a Hellcat supercharger upgrade make?

Results depend on the vehicle, fuel system, supporting mods, and intended use. FAS packages are scoped around the full combination, with build documentation, QC checklists, and remote calibration coordination when required.

Will a Hellcat supercharger fit a 5.7 HEMI?

Not directly — the factory Hellcat 2.4L supercharger is designed for the 6.2L HEMI and requires the matching intake manifold, fuel system, and engine management system. Fitting it to a 5.7L requires significant fabrication and ECM work. FAS Motorsports can discuss swap feasibility on a per-project basis.

How much does a Hellcat supercharger upgrade cost?

A bolt-on supercharger upgrade with pulley, throttle body, and calibration support starts around $3,500–$6,000 installed. Full-system builds vary depending on parts, fuel system, and labor. Contact FAS Motorsports at (812) 200-9012 for a build-specific quote.

Does FAS Motorsports install Whipple or Magnuson superchargers on Hellcats?

Yes — in addition to our proprietary Dominator ported supercharger package, we can source and install aftermarket supercharger kits including Whipple Gen 5/6 and Magnuson TVS units. We also offer hybrid builds that combine aftermarket superchargers with FAS billet components and remote calibration coordination when required.
